One of our favorite shows is opening in a few days time, and we’re struggling to contain our excitement.
Decorex SA is an annual Johannesburg décor and lifestyle expo, and is the biggest event for trend and cozy living. The theme this year is ‘Rhythm of Life’ and it is a must visit if you’re planning any home changes or if you’re just into décor and design.
There are sofas and daybeds and kitchens and bathrooms and fabric and wallpaper and tables and magnificent swing chairs and lamps and lighting and much much more!
In Hall 2, renowned chef, Deena Naidoo, the first-ever winner of MasterChef South Africa and owner of restaurant Aarya at Montecasino, will be doing an exciting cooking demonstration using local flavours and presenting them in honest and sincere meals.
And in Hall 5 there will be a South African Craft Collective (SACC). The SACC comprises 60 local craft entrepreneurs who create handmade home, gift and fashion accessories such as recycled material, ceramics and traditional and contemporary craft items.
And art! Don’t forget art. The renowned street artist R1 will be creating an incredible art installation.
Of course our own guesthouses can easily exhibit at the Decorex show:
Decorex takes place at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand. It’s about a forty-minute drive from Johannesburg, but if you’re staying at one of our guesthouses in the Parks region of Johannesburg, it makes sense to use the Gautrain. The train takes all of fourteen minutes from Rosebank to Midrand, and then there are Gautrain busses to get you from Midrand to Gallagher Estate. Easy!
